Preface

Náprstek J., pages i-ii

The Engineering Mechanics (EM) Conference is a well-established international forum for exchanging ideas and advances in mechanics and related fields. Unlike traditional journal publications, the contributions presented at EM reflect ongoing research and active development. By their very nature, they serve not only as records of scientific progress but also as catalysts for open discussion, interdisciplinary collaboration, and spontaneous intellectual exchange — essential components of true scientific dialogue, though often misunderstood or undervalued by administrative systems focused solely on formal publication metrics.

Fischer C., pages iii

This statement is provided in accordance with formal publication standards and administrative expectations. All papers included in the proceedings of the 31st International Conference on Engineering Mechanics (EM2025) underwent blind peer review by members of the Scientific Committee, composed of 35 experts across multiple disciplines. While this process reflects standard academic protocol, it is worth noting that the true scientific merit of the conference lies in the open discussion, active exchange, and collaborative spirit that characterizes EM — aspects not readily captured by such formal declarations.
